EPISODE 131
HALLOWEEN AT THE BEACH ON LOCATION

T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas stayed in the beach-resort town of spooky Cape May, New Jersey and recorded live the What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Halloween Special 2019 from the haunted Marquis De Lafayette Hotel. Cape May is one of the most haunted towns in the world, and the horror authors bring you two hours of local ghost stories they collected in town. Fox arrived early and spent two days listening to ghost stories from the locals—stories such as the faceless ghost and shadow man of Congress Hall, the gray lady of Washington Street Mall and the spirit children who still run in the halls of the Marquis De Lafayette Hotel—and Phil and Fox hardly scratched the surface of the haunted history of this two century old Victorian town. Cape May was a wonderful place to visit during October, and the seaside town celebrates Halloween with stage shows, events for children and ghost story tours. Fox & Phil record the show from the haunted Marquis De Lafayette Hotel, where many of the town residents came to watch and share their paranormal experiences. Fox plays the ghost story from his visit to General Lee’s battlefield in Gettysburg, narrated by English folksinger David Walton, and Phil’s charming horror story, The Pumpkin Carvers. Plus some creepy music to set the mood. It’s been a compelling end to our fourth season of What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Show, and we celebrated Halloween this year in style with two hours of local ghost stories in haunted Cape May, New Jersey.

Episode 130:
Haunting of Heather Taddy

As we countdown to Halloween 2019, we’ve featured a variety of horror authors, television actors and paranormal investigators. Heather Taddy joins us on Episode 130 to share her years of private and televised ghost and alien hunting. Heather Taddy’s noticeable enthusiasm for the odd and unknown landed her a role as a field investigator and documentarian on 4 seasons of A&E’s Paranormal State. And now she searches for evidence of extraterrestrials with Chuck Zukowski on Travel Channel’s Destination America. She shares her inspiration to seek out the paranormal, her scariest encounter with a dark spirit and her views on modern paranormal investigation. We also play a song, Lull, from Heather’s Pittsburgh band, punk-rock, “Glow Worm.”

Then English folksinger David Walton narrates T. Fox Dunham’s dark tale set during World War II. “Potentia.” Published in the anthology Monsterthology II from Zombie Works Publications, the story tells the last encounter between Victor Frankenstein and his creation in a death camp, where the scientist is working to give the Reich immortality.

Next week, listen for our Halloween at the Beach Special from Cape May, New Jersey!

EPISODE 129: HALLOWEEN FIEND

Horror authors T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas celebrate Halloween 2019 with extra episodes of What Are You Afraid Of? Horror & Paranormal Show. And on this episode, horror author and owner of Grindhouse Press, CV Hunt, comes on the show to talk about her fun and atmospheric book, Halloween Fiend. Phil came upon the book while looking for reading material to enjoy this October, and he liked the book so much that Fox setup an interview with the author. CV chats about the book, her writing, Grindhouse Press and how she likes to celebrate the holiday. All three are enjoying their favorite horror movies every night, and so we talk about the best cinema to watch to enjoy the waning October days. David Walton narrates an excerpt from Hunt’s book, Halloween Fiend and also reads a true ghost story about a dying woman worried about which of her husbands will come to take her soul to the afterlife in a piece sent to us from the UK.

EPISODE 128:
HALLOWEEN HAUNTED HAYRIDE

As Halloween 2019 approaches, beloved friend and brilliant author of dark stories, PD Cacek, returns to celebrate the spooky season with writer T. Fox Dunham. Trish is a friend, sensitive and author. Flame Tree Press is releasing her next book, 'Second Lives', and she comes on to talk about her insights into writing, the elements of horror fiction and ghost stories and to talk about how she gets ready for Halloween. She also shares some ghost stories including the tale of extra 'extra' convict at Philadelphia’s infamously haunted Eastern Penn State Penitentiary. English folksinger David Walton narrates a ghost story sent in by a friend of the show from Texas called The Gold is Mine about a young boy facing supernatural forces in his new family house. And as a special treat, T. Fox Dunham interviews one of the resident ghouls at the Bucks County Sleepy Hollow Haunted Acres—a threefold haunt that includes a hayride, corn maze and the haunted abode, Malfate Manor. Dark powers cursed Gilchrist to serve the household after death, and he comes on to lament his fate and talk about one of the favorite Halloween haunts visited by Fox and his wife, Allison.

We’re counting down to Halloween 2019 with lots more spooky to go!
