EPISODE 127:
“UP TO MY ASS IN ALLIGATORS” – THE JOE R. LANSDALE STORY

Author Joe R. Lansdale defined modern genre fiction. Joe’s won multiple awards. He’s author of the movie Bubba-Hotep, Sundance Channel’s Hap & Leonard and written a ton of novels. He joins T. Fox Dunham and Phil Thomas on episode 137 to talk about his writing, career and life. Joe started writing at the age of twenty-one and failed enough to drive anyone off a cliff. But he kept going, kept writing, and with each story, he learned. On the show, he talks about his early work, the discouraging process of starting as a professional author and how he found amazing success. Joe is an inspirational man who not only writes compelling stories but seeks to share his knowledge. This is one of our best episodes, and you don’t want to miss it, especially if you write. Also, David Walton narrates a ghost story sent in by a show fan in Ontario about an encounter with the restless dead in a cemetery. And finish, T. Fox Dunham narrates a classic Joe Lansdale short story about a guy who ends up at the center of shrinking apocalypse: “Shrinkage.” Joe R Lansdale joins Phil and Fox on their countdown to Halloween 2019.

EPISODE 126:
FRIDAY THE 13th THE SERIES - THE EPISODE

“Lewis Vendredi made a deal with the devil to sell cursed antiques . . .” It was on Saturday afternoons. We watched it when we were kids, fascinated by the occult horror. Three friends track down cursed objects to undo dark magic. Every object—a creepy doll, a scythe or playhouse—granted its owner powers but always at a terrible price.

Horror authors T. Fox Dunham & Phil Thomas interview actor and filmmaker Steve Monarque who played Johnny Ventura on Friday the 13th the Series. Johnny joins them to talk about his time as the young artifact hunter and his career as an actor and filmmaker. Steve created Monavision Films, and he’s gone on to several films. He’s also a talented musician, and we play one of his songs “All U Have 2 Do” from his band, The Monarques. Our English folksinger, David Walton, narrates a ghost legend from Yorkshire, England about a cursed chair that brings death on any who sit in it: The Death Chair of Thomas Busby. We’re counting down to Halloween 2019, and Fox and Phil will be at the Marquis de Lafayette Hotel in Cape May, New Jersey on the evening of October 25th to do their Halloween special.
